MATI's team teaching method matches professional artists and media specialists with academic teachers in developing curricula and implementing programming. This integrated approach to learning places the arts back in its rightful role as a serious and valid academic discipline. MATI instructors provide kids with a good reason to learn; the curriculum directly relates to their lives as well as their needs in education. All MATI projects are hands-on, exploratory and interactive in nature. This specialized student-centered approach empowers students to experience art and technology as 'creators' that shape the medium they are interacting with. MATI's project-based approach is centered on student-defined themes as well as needs- and allows for the development of student produced works including Literary Magazines, Visual Arts Exhibits and Theatrical Performances.
